Services

  • Facilitated Play Groups
Our facilitated playgroups emerged from the dedication and research of Dr. Stanley Greenspan’s Floortime approach and Dr. Pamela J. Wolfberg’s Integrated Play Group method. Children’s socialization and imagination are guided through a tailored system of support with emphasis placed on maximizing skills of symbolic play, socialization and the development of meaningful relationships.

  • Integrated Social Skills Groups
Guided by the outstanding work of Michelle Garcia Winner, we teach children the fundamental skills of “Social Thinking”, such as; self-awareness, thoughts, feelings, non-verbal communication, social interaction, stress reduction and self-regulation. Lesson plans are delivered in context using group social situations and personal experiences or through stories, games, role-playing, self-awareness video, and field trips.

    Stress and Coping Skill Groups

Through a modified version of Applied Behavior Analysis, children learn the skills necessary to reduce anxiety created from life stressors. They are taught appropriate replacement behaviors, as they learn to feel and acknowledge their feelings, while learning to cope. Lesson plans are centered around self-awareness activities such as; body awareness, understanding different feelings and thoughts, breathing and relaxation techniques and understanding how the environment plays a role in stress.

  • Parent and Sibling Groups

Monthly group meetings in support of parents and siblings of children diagnosed with exceptional needs. This forum is a voluntary support group facilitated by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Acceptance and healing begins with compassion, understanding, and validation.
