SKILL BUILDERS is an organization specializing in the treatment and support of autism and related developmental disorders. Our approach is comprehensive as we utilize a variety of methodologies such as, but not limited to Applied Behavioral Analysis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy.  Research has shown that the most appropriate education and intervention for children with autism includes early intensive behavior therapy.

Our purpose is to provide individuals the opportunity,  tools and support necessary to reach their greatest potential.

Our philosophy emphasizes a proactive approach that acknowledges each person as a unique individual with different needs and abilities. We value the importance of family and support their exceptional role as they advocate for their child. We recognize the need for collaboration and are committed to working cooperatively with various agencies, schools and professionals, all in the best interest of the individual.

Our Staff

Betty Blaney M.A., Ed.S

Founder, Director  & Facilitator.  Betty has over 12 years of experience in the fields of Special Education, Autism, ADD/ADHD and a variety of developmental disabilities. Her education and experience includes; Child and Human Development, School Psychology, Child and Adolescent Counseling, Behavior Management, Social Skills Training, Play Therapy, and Parenting Children with Exceptional Needs.

 

Christina Mc Lean, B.S.

Program Facilitator. Christina has a Degree in Psychology and experience in the fields of Special Education Inclusion and Social Skills Coaching.
